It was December 29 when Delhi gang-rape victim died. People from all walks of life across the country took one stand demanding severe punishment to the perpetrators and providing a safe and secure society for women. Almost after eight months of that chilling sexual violence against a woman, once again this most heinous act of men in this male-dominating society is raising a question that are we (women) only meant for sex?

Our political leaders shout 'India is shining, we are developing.' Is this the way we are shining and developing? Firstly, a paramedical student then a photojournalist, now, who is going to be the next target of sex-hunger men.

I was returning home from market, suddenly I saw few eve-teasers passing lewd remarks to a girl. The girl was afraid as she was alone. Then, she moved away quickly from that way. That day, this incidence did not trigger my mind as I was also habituated of it. But, today after reading newspaper I was surprised and shocked to know that I have born in a society, which is not safe and secure for me.

Till when we have to face this society and who is going to change it, we, women? No, until and unless the men, who have thinking that they are the almighty of women and women are only meant for giving them sexual pleasure, will change their thought, the society is not going to change. Before hurting a woman, why don't they think that their existence on this earth is only because of a woman. They too have sister, whom they want to provide a secure and safe society.

MY FEELINGS...

WHO IS GOD FROM HEAVEN FOR THEM???

‘Didi woh plate mat pheko mujhe de do..., bhook lagi hai..’;these words nabbed my attention and I was in a turbulent mental situation in that convivial atmosphere. The voice of that hapless boy was echoing in my mind. Yes, that ‘hapless boy’ or in our language ‘chottu’.

I felt myself unlucky when I was unable to crack the interview of IIMC entrance exam, I felt myself unlucky when I was unable to secure first rank in my semester exam and overall I felt myself more unlucky when I departed from my parents for my further studies. But, that day my thoughts became murky. This emotion of mine is not merely histrionic. I was in a chaotic situation to decide who is more unlucky me or that chottu.

I asked this question to myself and the answer which I got was like this. My parents were always there to fulfill not only my basic necessities but also my demands for swanky clothes, expensive toys, junk foods and other right demands of mine. But, who is there to fulfill chottu’s demands. Now, you say who is unfortunate, that chottu or me. It’s not that he is not having his parents; but, he is not having blessings of the almighty on him. His sin is that he is poor.

After conglomeration of thoughts when I was coming back I saw another part of story. And you will be glad to know this. That chottu was taking intoxicating element through injection and I got freeze for a moment. I just left the place carrying a question in my mind that who is responsible for this. I am too young to understand its complexities. But, I hope one day I will find out the answer of this in future.

WHETHER THEY NEED SYMPATHY OR YOUR CONCERN......

Save me; save me…… he is going to kill me. This cry of pain was echoing in my ears the whole night. That rainy night was a decisive night for me. But, whether I was right or wrong, God knows.

Government of India has made Domestic Violence Act to help any woman who is or has been in a domestic relationship with the aggrieved person who is also the ‘respondent’. Not only the husband but, the relative of the husband or male partner can also be a respondent.

Section 3 of the Act defines Domestic Violence as an act that harms or injures or has the potential to harm and injure will be considered Domestic Violence. An important aspect of this law is that victim who takes remedy of the law can not be hassled for doing so. One more crucial aspect of this law is that the victim has the right to stay in the same house even after the dispute. A woman who is a sufferer of the domestic violence will have the right to services to the police, shelter homes and medical treatments.

 Instead, making such a tremendous act, domestic violence is still the least reported form of cruel behavior. In our society no body wants to stand against the norms, rules and regulation which have been carried out since long period of time.  In our society, a woman is still dependent on a man. Although she has reached the height of sky but the number is not appealing. According to United Nation Population Fund Report, around two-third of married Indian women are victims of domestic violence. In India more than 55 per cent of women suffer from domestic violence, especially in states of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and other northern states.

A Public Service Advertisement was made to create awareness among the people. The ad tried to motivate people for knocking the door, ‘bell bajao..’ where domestic violence is proceeding. The ad was incredible. But, its effectiveness depends upon the outcome.

Nobody dared to come first. Do you know what the reason behind it is? Think of our society, in the social order in which we are living no one wants to interfere in anyone’s personal life. Domestic violence comes under that pursuit. Any how if you will dare to do that you will find yourself standing alone. This is the predictable reality. And that night my friends had to face the same consequences.

Everyone was in deep sleep that murk night, out of the blue they heard hue and cry of a woman.  No need to mention you here what was happening with her. Few of us dared to inform the police instead of authoritarian warning. But, we had to regret on our decision because the woman herself took the back foot. She wanted to save her husband who did not care a bit for her while doing that disgraceful task.

 This is not a story it’s a reality of all those women who are a silent sufferer. They are unable to come in front because for them their husbands are ‘GOD’. They can not speak against them because this male dominating society is not going to accept that woman. Now, you tell me whether I was right or wrong.

MASS MOVEMENT AND MEDIA

‘Tolerance’, when it reaches to maximum level it arrives to a bursting point. I am talking about the latest organized mass behavior led by the ‘Topiwala’ revolutionary Anna Hazare. Evidences establish that media has a great position in popularizing mass movement.

Mass movement and media have a paper and scissors relationship. Media, indisputably, has become very powerful and all pervasive. Famous English writer Gilbert Keith Chesterton once said ‘It’s not the world that’s got so much worse but the news coverage that’s got so much better.’

 Now, people form opinion about various issues based on what media feeds them and the way it feeds them. Media stuffs the information into the minds of people in such a way that no scope is left for analysis of facts on the part of viewers or readers.

 Recent revolutions, whether it is movement at Libya or India, their success is due to media’s full to support to them. In Anna Hazare’s movement Indian TV news channels used all tricks and trade to provide unbiased and authentic news information to the public. Almost every Indian was connected to the movement by keeping an eye on the television. Not only were the electronic media print media were also in this race. Everyday, along with the information about movement, articles and editorials were published which motivated people and put before them an analytical view.

 Every time we cannot blame media for its irresponsible behavior. This time media did its job with full candor. It was standing as pillar in the support of right because right is always might.

EARLY FEBRUARY, seven km away from Bhopal on the Gwalior road, I found my own piece of personal nirvana. For the whole day, I was free from the cycle of heat, humidity and the incessant Bhopal’s dust. For an unyielding believer like me, walking around the Jain Temple of Manua Bhan Ki Tekri, barefooted and hands clasped in veneration was nothing but short of a minor rebirth.

Unlike other tourists, I did not go to the picturesque of Jain Temple to enjoy the beautiful and an old manuscript carved on stones situated at Simha Gate of the temple, cheerful picnic-spot, and treasures in the form of Jain Saint Maharaj Shri Vijay Suriji, Shri Jindutta Sureshwarji and Acharya Mamtung.

The sole purpose of my trip was to climb the hill and watch the sunset from top of the hill. The hill of Manua Bhan Ki Tekri is the highest peak of Bhopal.  While climbing the hill you need lots of energy and preparation. Winter season is the best time-period for visiting the site. In hot summer you will get exhaust.

Rope-way is an option for getting rid from climbing the intense track of hill. But, it is unaffordable and non-bearable by everyone. Its charge is Rs. 150 per person. Around four to five persons can a sit at a time in it.

I have not revealed one more attracting feature of Manua Bhan Ki Tekri. From hilltop of Tekri one can watch a beautiful view of the capital of Madhya Pradesh. The whole Bhopal seems like green bed-sheet from there.

The area from where the extraordinary vision of sunrise and sunset can be viewed is a popular tourist spot. One cannot miss that legendary scene. For that exquisite scene one can visit Manua Bhan Ki Tekri everyday. That scenic can bring chirpiness in you. Your aglow during that ambience will cross all the boundaries.

During the stunning sunset, you can find lots of couples holding each other hands and watching the scene as if they want to submerge in that red sea. The environment becomes reddish slowly and slowly. The sun seems to be orange. And here’s the beauty for which I was waiting a lot. That day captured an unforgettable space in my heart.

‘Moonwalker lost in star’

Everything in this world has an end. The world has lost the ‘Moonwalker’ and the ‘king of Pop’ Michael Jackson (MJ). No one can become his replica, he was the man who was having a great savvy of pop music and all his fans were crazy about his pop music.

The King of pop was born on 29 August 1958 and started his journey in the field of pop music from the age of four by singing with his group ‘Jackson-Five’. He got his first professional contract in 1969 and made a record of youngest pop singer.

MJ was not only the ‘King of Pop’ but also the ‘King of Record Maker’. He made his first record by becoming a professional singer in the age of 11years only. Then he was selected in the list of great musicians of the world and selected twice in the ‘Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’ (award given in the field of rock-music). He got ’13-Garami’ award and the ‘Guinness Book of World Record’ awarded him with the title ‘The Successful Entertainer’(All Time).five hundred crores of copies of his album ‘Thriller’ were sold  in the market which was a record breaking figure.

MJ was very particular about his fans. Fourteen years ago when he came to Mumbai first time his fans became exuberant because he stopped his car ‘Toyota’ to meet his fans and followers who were standing  along the roadside. His fans all over the world became hopeless when his face got burnt in fire during the shooting of an ad of ‘Pepsi’. Then he surprised his fans by coming out with his surgical mask for the first time after six years of this incidence. During the interval of these six years he released his album ‘Bad’ and his autobiography ‘Moonwalk. He also wrote a book ‘WE ARE THE WORLD’ on the misery conditions of the Africans who were not getting food for their survival. MJ was legendary but he was not hapless enough to be led free from controversies. Many ups and downs came in his life. In 1993, a man made an allegation of sexual harassment of his son against him, again on 19 November 2003; a search warrant of his house was released on the matter of sexual harassment of children. But on 13^th June 2005, all the allegations and charges were removed from him.

MJ had a great potential of tolerance, he was suffering from skin cancer; but still wanted to live an excited life. Therefore on 5^th March he announced that he will again do many shows in London. But, his fate was not with him and on 25^th June, 2009 he left the world in Los Angles. All his fans and followers were astonished with this news. Now, the world will remember him for ‘Moonwalk’, his famous dance style he used to move back in reality but it seemed that he was moving in front of the stage. In the year 1983 he did’Moonwalk’for the first time on a TV-serial.
